Troop 200 visits the 9/11 Museum & Memorial

Boy Scout Troop 200 tours lower Manhattan taking in the sights and sounds during December trip

Boy Scout Troop 200 recently traveled to New York City to visit the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. The Memorial pays tribute to every person who died in the terrorist attacks on February 26, 1993 and September 11, 2001. Through interactive displays, artifacts, photos and videos, the museum helps tell the story of September 11, 2001.

In addition to visiting the Memorial and Museum, the Scouts were able to walk around FDNY Engine 10 and Ladder 10. The firehouse, located across the street from the Memorial, served as the command center during the recovery period.

Throughout the rest of the day, the troop toured lower Manhattan, taking in famous sites including Zuccotti Park (used as the Occupy Wall Street protest camp), historic Trinity Church, Wall Street, the Stock Exchange, Federal Hall and the National Museum of the Native American.
