Art Quilts: An Introduction for Art Lovers + Collectors with Meg Cox

Phillips' Mill presents a special evening with celebrated arts journalist, author, and quilt expert Meg Cox. Meg is a former culture reporter for The Wall Street Journal and Exhibitions Committee member of the International Quilt Museum. In her presentation, she will cover the history of art quilts and the people and institutions that collect them. Meg will share tips from prominent collectors and examples of works by pioneering art quilters and current rising stars. These are not your traditional bed quilts!
This event is in conjunction with a new exhibition at the Mill, "Art Quilters Celebrate Independence," featuring 39 art quilts celebrating the 250th anniversary of the U.S. by artists of Studio Art Quilt Associates (SAQA) of Pennsylvania. Meg's talk, presented amidst this dynamic collection of innovative textile artworks, is a must attend event for collectors, curators, and fine art enthusiasts alike.
7:30 p.m. Doors will open early to allow browsing of the exhibition before and after Meg's talk. Tickets: $20 general admission, $10 for Phillips' Mill Members. Purchase tickets and learn more about the exhibition at phillipsmill.org.
