Photos and Construction Details Highlight The Hunterdon County DPW Annual Report

Featuring before and after photos that establish graphically the extensive infrastructure work accomplished by Hunterdon County’s Department of Engineering and Public Works during 2018, the Department’s Annual Report also provides details on how County road and bridge dollars are expended.

Freeholder Shaun Van Doren, the Freeholder’s liaison for the Department, reported at the April 16th Board meeting, “This annual report is well worth the public’s time to review for not only the photographs that demonstrably provide a true appreciation of the extent and value of the work, but also for the cost and construction detail.”

Twenty-five miles of twelve different County roadways were resurfaced.

Twenty-five bridges, and an additional twenty-nine culverts throughout the County, were repaired or reconstructed.

Seven bridges were painted, there were five demolition projects, and over million linear feet of traffic lines were re-striped on County roads.”

Van Doren added, “The report provides locations of the various projects, the contractor that performed the work, or if the work was performed by the County’s in-house staff, and the cost of each project.”

“I greatly appreciate the staff’s effort in preparing the document. It lets the public know how a significant portion of their County tax dollars are used,” Van Doren concluded.

The Annual Report is also available on the County’s Facebook page and website.
