The Hunterdon County Board of Chosen Freeholders will hold the annual Re-organization meeting on Monday, January 7, 2019, at 4 pm, in Hunterdon County’s Historic Courthouse, Main Street, Flemington, at which time re-elected Freeholder Matt Holt and newly elected Freeholder Susan Soloway will be sworn into office.
Holt and Soloway will join Freeholders John Lanza, Suzanne Lagay, and Shaun Van Doren at the January 7th meeting to elect a Board Director and Deputy Director for 2019.
Matt Holt, a former Mayor of Clinton, will begin his fifth term as a Hunterdon County Freeholder, having served as Freeholder Board Director in 2011, 2014 and 2018. During his 2018 term as Director, Holt led the Freeholder Board to a nearly $1 million cut in the County budget.
Freeholder-elect Soloway, long a proponent of putting the taxpayers first, is a former Mayor and current Township Committee member in Franklin Township, where the 2018 budget was reduced by 8%.
Ms. Soloway, who will have the oath of office administered by State Senator Michael Doherty, will resign from the Franklin Township Committee upon commencing her term as Freeholder in January.
The Reverend Nathan Tuckey of the South Ridge Community Church in Clinton Township will provide the invocation and benediction at the ceremony.
