Hunterdon Freeholders Welcome Unicom Regional HQ
UNICOM Global, an international technology firm based in Los Angeles, this week concluded the purchase of the 1100-acre former Merck property in Readington, for use as its Regional Headquarters, and Hunterdon County’s Freeholder Board moved quickly to assure the new company that the County is supportive of their investment in Hunterdon County.
Freeholder Director Matt Holt stated, “This is a banner day for economic development in Hunterdon County. Having an international company invest in the County sends a strong message about our viability. We join Readington in welcoming the newly named UNICOM Science and Technology Park.”

The Freeholders adopted Resolution welcoming the company to Hunterdon County, at the Board’s October 2nd meeting, which stated, ‘UNICOM Global is a highly regarded IT company with an outstanding reputation and significant international stature.’
The welcome resolution further states, ‘the renewed corporate operations at the site represents one of the biggest potential returns to Readington and Hunterdon of any locally available commercial site, and represents a milestone day for the future viability of the County.’
Mr. Corry Hong, Founder, President and CEO of UNICOM Global, said in a statement released to the media, “UNICOM Global is very excited to acquire this world-class IT Real Estate property as our Regional Headquarters for the New York and New Jersey region,”.
In addition to UNICOM’s corporate headquarters in Los Angeles, California, the company has offices in twelve states and seventeen countries, according to their media release.
The former Merck HQ campus in Readington Township had been on the market since 2012.
