Man Sentenced For Threatening Cop With Gun During Domestic Dispute
The case stems from a July 2024 domestic dispute response at a Delaware Township home.
DELAWARE, NJ — A Hunterdon County man was sentenced to state prison in connection with threatening a police officer with a gun tied to a 2024 domestic dispute call.
Edward Swantkoski, 66, of Delaware Township, was sentenced on June 18 by Superior Court Judge Christopher J. Garrenger to an aggregate five-year state prison term.
During that time, Swantkoski will be ineligible for parole for three and a half years.

Swantkoski was previously found guilty on April 22 by a jury of third-degree terroristic threats and second-degree possession of a firearm for an unlawful purpose.
The jury was unable to reach a unanimous verdict on an additional charge of third-degree aggravated assault by pointing or displaying a firearm at a law enforcement officer.

The charges stemmed from a July 6, 2024, domestic incident at Swantkoski's home in Delaware Township.
Officers from the Delaware Township Police Department, including Lieutenant Elliot Gray, went to the home for a reported domestic dispute.
Swantkoski exited the home while armed with a semiautomatic handgun and acted with the purpose of terrorizing Gray, said Robeson.
