Fort Lee Burglary Suspect Arrested After Fleeing On GWB: Police

Billy Pugh, 51, allegedly burglarized a Linwood Terrace home Monday afternoon and then fled on foot, police said.

FORT LEE, N.J. — A Bronx, New York man was arrested Monday afternoon after police caught him running on the George Washington Bridge, the Port Authority Police Department said.

Fort Lee broadcast a message that they were looking for a man who allegedly broke into an apartment at the Mediterranean Towers North and was seen fleeing toward the George Washington Bridge, said Port Authority spokesman Joseph Pentangelo. The man was wearing a green shirt and using headphones, police said.

Port Authority Officer Patrick Devins saw a man matching the description running through traffic on the bridge's lower level near the toll plaza, Pentangelo said.
