Victim Dies, Charge Upgraded In Fort Lee Hit-And-Run: Prosecutor
Carmen Lombardi, 42, has been charged with leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision after the woman died Thursday.

FORT LEE, NJ — A charge filed against a man who authorities say hit a woman Thursday while she was crossing a busy Fort Lee intersection has been upgraded following the woman's death Thursday, authorities said.
Carmen Lombardi, 42, has now been charged with leaving the scene of a fatal motor vehicle collision, Bergen County Prosecutor Gurbir Grewal announced Friday afternoon.
The 57-year-old woman Lombardi hit died Thursday while receiving care at Hackensack University Medical Center, Grewal said.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash at Lemoine Avenue and Bridge Plaza North. The driver of one of the vehicles stayed at the scene while Lombardi fled the scene in the other, Grewal said.
Lombardi had previously been charged with leaving the scene of a motor vehicle collision resulting in serious bodily injury.
