Cops Save Dog Near Lincoln Tunnel During Blizzard

'Pandy' got away from her walker and ran 40 blocks where police found her in the snowstorm near the tunnel NYC's entrance.

Port Authority Police rescued a dog that was already saved from the Thailand food trade after she ran 40 blocks to the Lincoln Tunnel during the snowstorm Tuesday, authorities said.

Officers Nicholas Armenti, Manny Luongo and Steve Corrigan saw "Pandy" at the entrance of the Manhattan side of the Lincoln Tunnel at 4:30 p.m. during the snowstorm, said Joseph Pentangelo, a Port Authority Police spokesman. The 5-year-old terrier hound mix was lost approximately 40 blocks away while she was being walked and something spooked her, prompting her to run away.

The officers took "Paddy," whose paws were covered in blood from her running so much, to the ASPCA on 92nd Street and its identification chip was scanned to determine the owner, which is by Animal Haven, a shelter.
