An attorney who claims she got canned for supporting a political opponent of her boss has won her job back and is likely to receive a $250,000 settlement, according to The Bergen Record.
Kelly Durkin, a lawyer for the county health department’s mental health law office, believed she was fired in July 2011 for supporting former County Executive Dennis McNerney, a Democrat, The Record reported Tuesday.
The Montvale lawyer sued County Exec Kathleen Donovan and other county officials in April 2012. Durkin earns $57,200 and donated nearly $18,000 to Bergen Democrats between 2006 and 2007, according to The Record.
