Fort Lee 'Peeping Tom' Superintendent Watched Girl Change: Police

Luis DeJesus, 53, stood on a ladder to peer through the second-story window as the girl got dressed, police said.

FORT LEE, NJ — A borough building superintendent was charged with invasion of privacy after he allegedly watched his underage female neighbor get dressed.

Luis DeJesus, 53 and married, was also charged with peering into windows, said Detective Sgt. Robert Tilton.

DeJesus was arrested and charged after police investigated a report of a "Peeping Tom" at a Teresa Drive apartment complex, Tilton said.

Officers spoke with the victim, a juvenile girl, and her mother. The girl told police DeJesus looked at her getting dressed through her second-floor window, Tilton said.

DeJesus was employed as the building superintendent at the time of the incident and used a ladder to look through the victim's window, Tilton said.

Detectives Nicholas Orta and Thomas Keelen investigated and DeJesus provided police with a statement. The charges filed against him are fourth-degree offenses, police said.

DeJesus was released from police custody with a Superior Court date of March 2, Tilton said.
