WATCH: Drivers Crash Into One Another On GWB

People got out of the vehicles and walk on the snow-covered bridge.

FORT LEE, NJ — People were getting out of their vehicles and walking on the George Washington Bridge's upper level Thursday afternoon as snow and sleet blanketed North Jersey during the area's first nor'easter.

A video posted to Twitter showed a man walking around the bridge describing several fender benders involving tractor-trailers. The man asked one driver if he was alright. Traffic was not moving.

The eastbound upper level of the bridge was closed Thursday afternoon.

Other Twitter users reported other multiple-vehicle crashes on the bridge.
