Han Su Chin, 48, had his leg amputated after falling while working at a construction site.

A worker who had his leg amputated after he fell 30 feet at a Fort Lee construction site was awarded a $2.8 million settlment recently, NJ.com reported.

Han Su Chin, 48, was working at a construction site on Lemoine Avenue in July 2011 when he fell into an alley, the report states. He had a prosthesis and uses a cane to walk after suffering extensive fractures to his right leg and ankle, the report states.

Kevin C. Decie, the attorney who represented Chin, told NJ Advance Media that the award was “lower than I expected.”

“I was hoping for around $4 to $5 million, considering the extent of my client’s injuries,” Decie said.

In his suit, Chin alleged that he was not provided a safe workplace and equipment to perform his job, Decie told Nj Advance Media.
