Rapper Fivio Foreign Arrested In Fort Lee: Police

FORT LEE, NJ — Rapper Fivio Foreign, whose real name Maxie Ryles III, was arrested in Fort Lee after he was found in possession of a gun with a defaced serial number, police said.

The incident happened Wednesday, around 7:29 p. m., and was first reported by the Daily Voice.

The rapper was approached by a police officer for leaving hir car in a no-parking zone and resisted arrest, police said. He asked if the officer was issuing a ticket, and when he was asked to show a driver's license proceeded to walk away, according to police.

A second officer found the Ryles about a block down the street. He chaced the rapper as he ran away towards a luxury apartment complex on Park Avenue, eventually catching up with him in a parking lot.

As Ryles resisted arrest, a .25 caliber handgun with a defaced serial number fell from his waistband, police said.

Ryles was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, having a defaced firearm, and resisting arrest, and taken to Bergen County Jail. The rapper was checked for any injuries by an EMS, while the second officer was transported to the hospital with a minor injury.

Ryles had been arrested last October and held in Bergen County Jail without bond, with assault charges, for an incident in Edgewater.

The Brooklyn-born rapper had his first break with the single "Big Drip," which has been streamed around 45,7 million times on Spotify, and last year he was featured in Drake's "Demons."
