'Shark Tank' Star Confirms NJ Brother Died In Dominican Republic
UPDATE: The star's brother reportedly died in the resort area where a mysterious pattern of deaths has taken place.

The brother of a star on TVs "Shark Tank" reportedly died in the resort area where a mysterious pattern of deaths has taken place.
Barbara Corcoran, whose family is from Edgewater, confirmed that her brother died, although she's now suggesting that it may have had nothing to do with the recent deaths.
She initially raised concerns that no autopsy was done when she talked to the media about a possible connection to the recent deaths in the Dominican Republic.

Corcoran said her brother was found dead in April in his hotel room in the Dominican Republic. The circumstances, according to a TMZ report, sounded eerily familiar to the six mysterious tourist deaths in the country over the past year.

The "Shark Tank" star initially told TMZ that her brother, John, had no autopsy and her brother's friend discovered the body, but nobody knew exactly what happened. She said John was retired but owned a successful roofing company in New Jersey.
Barbara, 70, said John was on vacation with a friend and it was John's friend who found him dead in his hotel room, according to NBC News. Barbara, who has nine siblings, called John "my favorite brother" and described him as having a larger-than-life personality, according to the report.
The news comes after three people, including a Pennsylvania woman, died at a Dominican Republic resort last month, and more tourists are emerging with concerning stories of similar experiences. The developments have reportedly prompted officials from the United States to join the investigation.
Over the weekend, the families of two people who died at another Dominican Republic resort — one as recently as April — came forward. As a result, Fox News confirmed, the FBI has joined the investigation into the mysterious deaths.
The investigation began after three Americans died at a Bahia Principe resort within days in May.
Miranda Schaup-Werner, 41, of Allentown, Pennsylvania died May 25, just hours after arriving at the Grand Bahia Príncipe Hotel. She was found unresponsive in her hotel room and died before making it to the hospital, the hotel said in a statement.
