Woman Dying Of Brain Cancer One Of Two George Washington Bridge Suicide Victims In 24 Hours
A woman also jumped to her death from the George Washington Bridge Wednesday morning.

A 22-year-old woman who was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer jumped to her death from the George Washington Bridge Tuesday, according to reports.

On Tuesday, Vanida Thavisone, of Brooklyn Park, who had been traveling to visit friends, jumped around 4 p.m., according to nj.com and The Record of Bergen County.

Thavisone spoke about her life in a Facebook post that was captured in a screen shot, and provided to NJ Advance Media:
“Last month, I was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer and have been in over my head since ... However, by some divine miracle last week, I decided to harden ... up and spend my remaining days visiting friend[s] around Europe before my condition worsens. Honestly, I do no[t] want to be here to experience it; I hope you can understand.”

On Tuesday, an unidentified woman jumped from the span, north of the New York tower, around 11:20 a.m., according to nj.com and The Record.
The NYPD Harbor Unit recovered the person’s body about 15 minutes later, the reports said.
Last month, a Long Branch man was identified as the fourth suicide victim at the bridge in nine days, police said.
