Manager Accused Of Stealing $500K From Fort Lee Restaurant

Breaking: Jung Yun, 36, allegedly stole the money over the course of 4 years, authorities said.

FORT LEE, NJ — A local woman is accused of stealing more than $500,000 from a borough restaurant she worked for over the course of four years.

Jung M. Yun, 36, of Palisades Park was charged with theft and money laundering after she was a arrested Thursday, said acting Bergen County Prosecutor Dennis Calo.

The prosecutor's office Financial Crimes Unit received a complaint in April from the owner of a Fort Lee restaurant about suspected theft from the business by the manager, Yun, Calo said.

The owner discovered that more than $500,000 was stolen from the business from 2014 to 2018 during a recent audit, Calo said. Yun was hired in 2014.

Authorities learned that Yun allegedly used the restaurant's point of sale system to get cash payments from customers and then change the sales receipts to make it look like the sales were cancelled, Calo said.

Yun also allegedly stole cash tips that were supposed to be given to the restaurant's servers and bus staff, Calo said.

Yun was arrested and lodged in the Bergen County Jail Annex pending a first appearance in Bergen County Superior Court, Calo said.
