Another Bomb Threat At N.J. Movie Theater

A bomb threat was reported at a N.J. movie theater during a showing of the new Star Wars movie.

A N.J. movie theater was evacuated because of a bomb threat - the second scare at the same theater in one week.

The theater was evacuated during a showing of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

The bomb threat was made at the AMC Theater complex at the Freehold Raceway Mall, and again authorities have sounded an “all clear” after no explosives were discovered inside this afternoon, announced Acting Monmouth County Prosecutor Christopher J. Gramiccioni.

A series of notes were discovered inside the men’s room of the theater around 11:30 a.m. Friday containing threats to the theater. The theater was evacuated and no credible threat or explosives were discovered on scene.

The theater was reopened about two hours and 15 minutes later, authorities said.

Twitter users reported how they were upset about the incident.

The AMC Freehold Metroplex at the Freehold Raceway Mall was cleared to reopen Monday after a bomb threat resulted in an evacuation.

On Monday, authorities searched the theater with bomb-sniffing dogs and cleared it to reopen about 7:15 p.m., according to Newsworks and the Monmouth County Police, Fire and EMS Facebook page.
