Chilly and tranquil rest of the week

High pressure will be in control through the rest of the week with tranquil yet chilly weather conditions with temperatures averaging below normal through at least Thursday.  A strong cold front with a wave of low pressure will bring rain to the northern Mid Atlantic on Saturday followed by cold weather conditions for the second half of the weekend!

Today through Thursday, high pressure will settle over the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas with clear skies to scattered cloud cover.  Winds will veer from the northwest to east at 10 to 20 mph through the forecast period.  Temperatures will not move much today with high temperatures rising 3 to 5 degrees into the mid to upper 40's.  Tomorrow, temperatures will range from the upper 20's to lower 30's for lows and mid 40's for highs.  On Thursday, temperatures will range from the lower to mid 30's for lows and mid to upper 40's for highs.

On Friday, high pressure will shift off the coast with increasing clouds through the day.  Winds will veer to the south and southwest at 10 to 20 mph.  Temperatures will return to near normal levels with lows in the mid to upper 30's and highs in the lower to mid 50's.
