Cold and tranquil conditions today

High pressure will be in control through Friday with tranquil and chilly weather conditions.  A strong cold front will bring a cold rain to the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan on Saturday followed by very cold weather conditions leading into the week of Thanksgiving!

Today through Friday, high pressure will be in control with clear skies to scattered clouds expected.  Winds will veer from the north to the east at 5 to 15 mph.  Temperatures will average below to near normal.  Temperatures today will rise into the lower to mid 40's for highs.  Tomorrow, temperatures will range from the upper 20's to mid 30's for lows and upper 40's to lower 50's for highs.  Temperatures on Friday will range from the upper 30's to lower 40's for lows and lower to mid 50's for highs.

A strong cold front will drive through the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas on Saturday with periods of rain expected.  Winds will veer to the northwest at 10 to 20 mph.  High temperatures are expected in the morning ranging from the upper 40's to lower 50's ahead of the cold front and then fall through the 40's the rest of the day.

High pressure will be in control Sunday and Monday with scattered clouds to clear skies.  Temperatures will be well below normal through the forecast period.  Temperatures on Sunday will range from the upper 20's to lower 30's for lows and mid to upper 30's for highs.  Temperatures on Monday will range from the mid 20's for lows and upper 30's to lower 40's for highs.

A strong cold front will move through the region on Tuesday with rain and snow showers over the interior and rain along the coast.  Temperatures will range from the lower to mid 30's for lows and mid 40's for highs.

A strong coastal storm is expected on Wednesday with widespread heavy rain expected over much of the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas along with strong wind gusts.  Accumulating snowfall will be a threat for elevations above 1,000 feet for this storm.  Temperatures will struggle in the upper 30's to mid 40's for highs and mid 20's to mid 30's for lows.
