
A strong cold front that produced severe thunderstorms and tornadoes in the Ohio River Valley and Upper Mid West yesterday is rapidly clearly the New Jersey coast this morning. This cold front will be to the east of the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas by this afternoon with clearing skies to follow along with falling temperatures by this evening.
The cold front and associated showers and isolated thunderstorms will exit into the Atlantic Ocean by 11 AM this morning followed by clearing skies from west to east. Winds will veer to the northwest at 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 40 mph at times. Temperatures will remain warm in the upper 50's to lower 60's over the northern interior and mid 60's throughout the rest of the Philadelphia and New York City metropolitan areas.
High pressure will take hold this evening on through Thursday with scattered cloud cover and winds from the north and northeast at 5 to 15 mph. Temperatures will fall back to below normal levels through Wednesday and near normal levels on Thursday. Temperatures for tomorrow will range from the mid 30's to lower 40's for lows and mid to upper 40's for highs. Temperatures on Wednesday will range from the upper 20's to lower 30's for lows and mid to upper 40's for highs. Temperatures on Thursday will range from the mid to upper 30's for lows and lower to mid 50's for highs.
