FBAC Reorganization and Social Event

On Thursday January 23rd, 2014 7pm
Freehold Elks Lodge 1454
73 East Main Street, Freehold NJ

The Freehold Borough Arts Council invites you to join us for our annual reorganization meeting. We will be taking some time to conduct our annual election and some light business, but there will be plenty of time and room for socializing and networking. This is a great evening to learn about the FBAC and some of the other arts groups in town. If you are a regular member, a returning member or just a person who is curious and may want to volunteer with us, it will be a good night to find out more about the local arts community. We will be featuring a guest speaker who will give us a brief presentation:

Hot Art for Cold Winter Nights: Renaissance, Romance, and Love

So much of what we take as natural is really cultural, and what can be more "natural" than love? In this light hearted and wistful survey, Dr. Mungiello traces the birth and development of romance through the Late Middle Ages to the Renaissance in it's art and poetry.

Edoardo Mungiello holds a doctorate in European Cultural History and a Master's degree in Art History with a concentration on the Italian Renaissance. He was a scholar in residence at the Centre for Medieval and Renaissance Studies in Oxford, England and is a published author with Cambridge Scholars. He has studied traditional painting independently in Florence, Rome and New York and teaches it privately. He has taught at many institutions and is presently an adjunct professor at Essex County College and Brookdale Community College. He is a member of the Freehold Borough Arts Council and is a resident of Monmouth County.
