The holiday season was a busy one for the Freehold FFA! Although the weather got in the way of some of our meetuings, we still found a way to make the season exciting!
Our treasurer, Gabby Galterio, won NJ FFA's Member of the Month for November! We are so proud of you!
On November 14th, out Dairy Foods team, Turf Management team, Land Judging Team, and Fruits and Vegetables Identification team competed in Fall Career Development Events at Cook College on the Rutgers campus. Dairy Foods took 4th place, Turf Management took 6th place, Land Judging took 3rd place, and Fruits and Veggies took 10th place. Congratulations to all of our teams!
Our annual Thanksgiving Feast was on November 21st. Mr. Ducey made us a turkey, and all of our members contributed food for us to enjoy before the holiday season began. Our members enjoyed a game of "pin the tail on the turkey" and the winner got to pie our chapter president in the face.
About 20 Freehold FFA chpater members participated in the 212 Conference on December 7th, which is an annual leadership conference run by national FFA facilitators. This year, 212 covered the importance of growth and which aspects of themselves that students should focus on growing in order to become great leaders. 212 was a great experience to learn about leadership, set personal goals, and meet FFA members from all over the state of New Jersey.
December 19th was our annual holiday party. Many of our alumni who came home from college visited us at the party and enjoyed some games and food. It was a perfect opportunity to celebrate the holidays before we left for break!
Now Freehold is getting ready for the new year! The Freehold FFA Officers are planning the freshmen's annual Greenhand Conference in order for them to earn their first FFA degree, and we are getting ready for FFA Week at the end of February!
