"Heirloom Kitchen" is a Gourmet's Treasure
An Old Bridge eatery that provides an ULTIMATE dining experience, features a James Beard finalist and just minutes away.
Heirloom Kitchen ,3853 Route 516 in Old Bridge, is indeed a treasure. I sometimes visit a restaurant and want to share my experience with Patch readers to show my appreciation for an exceptional culinary event. I have to admit, last night, my husband and I had the meal, and the time of our lives and we didn't have to travel hours to Manhattan or Philadelphia.
The restaurant features many sitting options. There is a chef's table where patrons can watch Chef David Viana and his hard working staff prepare delicious cuisine. He is entertaining, and joyful about his work which adds to the dining experience. The restaurant provides a Price Fixed dining option as well as a 5 course option. Everything in my view looked outrageously delicious and was presented so beautifully I hated to cut into my own order. Heirloom Kitchen also features a farm table where strangers become friends over shared wine and great food. There is additional table seating to meet the preferences of traditional customers. The menu changes seasonally and the Chef addresses every dietary restriction. I am gluten free and my pork tenderloin and orange salad provided layers of flavor that were memorable. Honestly, I did not want my meal to end.
Heirloom Kitchen also provides hands-on cooking classes meeting the needs of those with previous experience in the kitchen and the "Worst Cooks in America", the category I fall into. According to Food and Wine Magazine, it is one of the "Best Cooking Classes Around The World" I left there yesterday thinking that attending one of their themed classes with a group of friends might be a unique and entertaining experience.

We were there for my husband's birthday. The experience was wonderful and celebratory. The staff was professional and caring. The ambiance was conducive for conversation, which is very rare in most restaurants and I hope you will all plan on experiencing this Central Jersey treasure for yourselves.
