• Brookdale Community College will layoff staff amid rising costs (njtoday.com) — Brookdale Community College's regional campus in Freehold will remain open even as the college prepares staff layoffs to cope with soaring health benefit and utility costs and lagging enrollment. Leaders say they're restructuring to protect long-term stability without sharply raising tuition. The exact number of affected employees isn't yet known, but officials promise to handle the reductions with "compassion, dignity and respect."
   

• Children & Family Health Institute Launches MindCare Now to Deliver No-Cost Virtual Mental Health Support Across New Jersey (tapinto.net) — Based out of Freehold, VNA Health Group's Children & Family Health Institute is launching MindCare Now to give uninsured and underinsured adults no-cost virtual mental health support. Eligible clients in programs like WIC and Nurse-Family Partnership across Monmouth and nearby counties can quickly connect with licensed therapists via Talkspace, helping reduce wait times, transportation barriers, and cost concerns.
   

• Peterpaul Bill Making To-Go Alcohol Sales Permanent Signed into Law (thelinknews.net) — A new state law signed in Freehold makes permanent the ability for many New Jersey restaurants, bars, and craft distilleries to sell and deliver to-go alcoholic drinks. Supporters say the change, first tested during the pandemic, will help small businesses boost revenue while keeping red tape down. Eligible license holders and delivery services can now continue offering sealed cocktails and other beverages for off-premises consumption.
