While the crimes occurred out of state, the case involves a Freehold resident and highlights how weak financial controls in large housing communities can expose residents' money to fraud.
   

4. Middletown South football cruises to win over Shore (nj.com subscription) — Middletown South's football team improved to 2-2 with a 31-7 win over Shore, just a week after rolling past Freehold Township 42-14 behind a huge game from Justin Rosato. Rosato again powered the offense and contributed big defensive plays, while kicker Jack DeLumeau stayed perfect on extra points. Shore dropped to 1-3 with the loss.
