UPDATE: Freehold School Officials Change Delayed Starts To Closures
Officials cited continuing bad road conditions in deciding to close schools.

UPDATE, 11:15 p.m.: Officials of all three Freehold area school districts have changed the planned delayed openings to closures.

The accumulating snow that had dropped 8 inches on Freehold and the surrounding area as of 6:30 p.m., according to the National Weather Service, led to delayed openings for Freehold area schools for Friday.
Freehold Township schools will open on a two-hour delay, officials there announced on the district’s website. PARCC testing will take place as scheduled. But officials said if there is a need to close schools, an update will be posted after 6:30 a.m.

Freehold Borough schools are opening 90 minutes late, officials there announced. PARCC testing has been delayed to Monday. “We will continue to monitor conditions early tomorrow morning,” the announcement on the district website said.
The Freehold Regional High School District announced a 90-minute delayed opening.
Early schools (Freehold, Howell, Manalapan) will begin at 9 a.m., while late schools (Colts Neck, Freehold Township, Marlboro) will begin at 9:55 a.m.
“We will continue to monitor conditions throughout the night,” the announcement said. “In the event of an additional change in schedule for March 6th, we will utilize this website, our automated calling system, our Facebook page, and our mobile app to alert our community.”
Seniors scheduled to take the HSPA will now test on Monday, the announcement said.
