Trash Can Fire Prompts Freehold School Evacuation: Superintendent
Students and staff were allowed back into the building after a short time outside, the superintendent said.

FREEHOLD, NJ — Students and staff were evacuated from Park Avenue School Complex for a short time on Friday due to a fire in a trash can, the school district superintendent said.
Freehold Borough Superintendent Rocco Tomazic tweeted about the fire and evacuation at the school complex at 2:39 p.m. The fire was out at that time, but firefighters were on the scene to check the school and make sure everything was secure.
Within 10 minutes, the students and staff were allowed back into the building, Tomazic said.
