2 Charged In String Of Galloway Car Thefts: Police
Five vehicle burglaries were reported Tuesday morning, Galloway police said. Two suspects were identified and charged.
GALLOWAY, NJ — Two were charged after five motor vehicle burglaries were reported in the morning hours of June 14 around Collins Road, police said.
At 10:12 a.m. on June 15, police found Sean Torres, 36, of Galloway, and Johana Campos-Mendoza, 28, of Atlantic City inside a stolen SUV that was used while stealing other vehicles, police said. Police were able to link the two to other car thefts as a search of the vehicle turned up other stolen items, Galloway police said. The SUV itself had been stolen after the owner left the car unlocked with the key fob inside, according to police.
Torres was charged with possession of stolen property, resisting arrest and obstruction of justice.

"Worse yet, suspects then use the stolen car to commit other crimes, similar to what just occurred here in Galloway," police said.
Galloway police shared these tips to prevent car theft:
- Follow the 9 p.m. routine
- Remove valuables from your vehicle when you get home
- Lock your car
