2 Face Gun Charges After Car Is Broken Into In Galloway: Police

Ahmed Ismail, 33, and Torin Colson, 19, were charged with multiple weapons offenses after a resident saw them break into his car, cops said.

GALLOWAY, NJ — A pair was charged with multiple weapons offenses after a Galloway resident saw a man breaking into his car, police said.

Shortly after 2 a.m. on Jan. 30, the resident called police and said while checking his surveillance footage, he had seen someone breaking into his car about 40 minutes earlier, police said.

Police began to check the area and found a Nissan Altima parked on Smithville Boulevard. Inside the car were two men and police also found a defaced handgun inside, officials said.

The two men, Ahmed Ismail, 33, of Moorestown, and Torin Colson, 19, of Millville, were charged with numerous offenses, including: unlawful possession of a weapon, certain persons not to have a weapon, possession of hollow point ammunition, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and possession of a defaced firearm.

Ismail and Colson now sit in the Atlantic County Justice Facility pending a future court appearance, police said.

Police thanked citizens for remaining vigilant, and reporting suspicious activity in their neighborhoods.

"This particular case is an example of police and the public working together to make our community a safer place," police said.
