3 Accused Of 2018 Attempted Murder In Galloway

One of the suspects was charged Thursday with causing an Ocean County man's drug-induced death, authorities said.

GALLOWAY, NJ — Galloway police accused three men of an attempted murder From December 2018. Friday's announcement follows a 14-month investigation into a shooting.

Navail Washington, Isiah Tolbert and Shemar Jackson were all charged with attempted murder and conspiracy to commit murder, police said. Jackson was also charged Thursday with selling heroin and fentanyl that killed a Toms River man in December, according to the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office.

Police were dispatched to Federal Court building #2 on Dec. 2, 2018, after a male was shot, authorities said. The suspects approached the victim outside his home and shot him three times, according to police. One bullet hit his abdomen, and the other two were unaccounted for.

Police identified the suspects through video surveillance, cell phone information and other investigation. Washington and Tolbert were taken to the Atlantic County Jail, while authorities are holding Jackson in the Ocean County Jail.

  • certain person not to possess a firearm

Jackson, 19, of Galloway:

  • conspiracy to commit murder
  • attempted murder
  • conspiracy to commit aggravated assault
  • aggravated assault
  • aggravated assault by pointing
  • unlawful possession of a handgun
  • possession of a handgun for unlawful purposes
  • possession of a handgun for unlawful purposes — community gun
  • prohibited weapon — hollow nose ammunition
  • prohibited weapon — large capacity magazine
  • receiving stolen property — firearm

Tolbert, 21, of Galloway:

  • conspiracy to commit murder
  • attempted murder
  • conspiracy to commit aggravated assault

  • aggravated assault by pointing
  • unlawful possession of a handgun
  • possession of a handgun for unlawful purposes
  • possession of a handgun for unlawful purposes — community gun

Washington was additionally charged with heroin distribution and drug possession, police said.
