Atlantic City Teen Charged With Attempted Murder For Shooting
The 14-year-old shot a 29-year-old multiple times and was arrested with a loaded "ghost gun," which has no serial number, police said.
ATLANTIC CITY, NJ — An Atlantic City 14-year-old was charged with attempted murder after shooting a 29-year-old man multiple times, police said.
The 14-year-old is charged with attempted murder, aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, possession of a high capacity magazine and possession of a "ghost gun," Atlantic City police said.
The victim was shot on May 31 at about 9:30 p.m. on the first block of South Florida Avenue, police said. He was taken to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division to be treated.

The Violent Crimes Unit investigated, identifying and charging the 14-year-old, who was wanted at the time, police said.
The 14-year-old was found in a group of men on June 10 at 8:30 p.m. at the first block of South Florida Avenue, police said. When police converged on the group, three men ran, police said. Officers were able to apprehend the 14-year-old after a short foot chase, police said.

Nearby, police found a loaded handgun with a high capacity magazine, police said. The gun was a "ghost gun," meaning it has no serial number making it harder to trace, police said.
Also arrested were Genesis Silva, 24, who had on him ten grams of suspected crack cocaine, a digital scale containing a white powdery residue and $2,891 that police believed to be proceeds from drug sales, police said.
Silva is charged with possession of CDS, possession with intent to distribute CDS and resisting arrest.
Police also arrested Juan Aquino-Silva, 23, who had 24 grams of suspected heroin, four grams of suspected crack cocaine and a digital scale, police said.
Aquino-Silva is charged with possession of CDS (2 counts), possession with intent to distribute CDS (2 counts), possession with intent to distribute CDS in a school zone and possession of CDS paraphernalia.
The 14-year-old sits in Harbor Fields Juvenile Detention Facility, while Silva and Aquino-Silva were issued summonses pending future court dates.
