Atlantic Co. Man Shared Child Porn Through Snapchat: Prosecutor
William Roman Jr., of Egg Harbor Township, was charged with possessing and distributing child abuse images, officials said.
EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ — An Egg Harbor Township man was charged in connection with the distribution of child abuse images and videos through Snapchat, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.
William Roman Jr., 35, was charged with second degree possession and distribution of child abuse images via a social messaging service, as well as third degree possession of child abuse images, Acting Prosecutor William E. Reynolds said.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor's Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force received a referral that said child sexual exploitation content was being distributed on Snapchat, Reynolds said.

A subsequent investigation led detectives to identify Roman as the suspect and more child sexual exploitation videos were found in his possession, Reynolds said.
The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Internet Crimes Against Children Unit was assisted by the United States Department of Homeland Security Investigations and the Egg Harbor Township Police Department, Reynolds said.
