AtlantiCare Employee Recognized With Patriot Award

She received the award for her commitment to military employees.

A Cherry Hill woman was recognized by the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR) with its Patriot AwardJuly 24.

Janice Quay, RN, is a clinical manager at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center Mainland Campus Emergency Department.

An employee serving in the National Guard or Reserve, or the spouse of a Guard or Reserve member, can nominate individual supervisors for support provided directly to the nominating member and his or her family.

“For every single Guard mission, drill; past deployments and future deployments; Janice Quay has always been supportive,” wrote Chaddy Cantona, ARMC Emergency Department technician, and member of the New Jersey Army National Guard, in his nomination of Quay for the award. “She not only takes time to accommodate my military obligations, but my personal life at home as well. She cares about her employees and works with my schedule. She is sincere and truly supports everything I have to do. The support I receive from Janice and the rest of the staff allows me to fulfill my duties without having to worry about my civilian job. Although we have only worked together for a short time due to my deployment, she has showed continuous support of my service.”

The ESGR also presented ARMC with an Above and Beyond Award. The Above and Beyond Award is presented by ESGR State Committees to recognize employers at the local level who have gone above and beyond the legal requirements of the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) by providing their Guard and Reserve employees additional, non-mandated benefits such as differential or full pay to offset lost wages, extended health benefits, and other similar benefits.

Recognizing supportive employers is vital to ESGR’s mission. ESGR’s 54 State Committees actively promote awards as a key element in furthering employer support, while strengthening relationships between service members and employers.
