Boat Captain's Body Pulled Out Of Atlantic County Waters
The body was discovered during low tide on Wednesday morning, police said.
EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, NJ — The body of a local captain was found in the bay in Egg Harbor Township on Wednesday, Egg Harbor Township police announced in a press release.
Edward Cairns, 71, a popular boat captain in the area, was found dead between a dock and marshland near Graef Boat Yard on Longport Boulevard, police said. The body was discovered during low tide around 10:30 a.m.
According to police, Cairns lived on his boat and was known in the community for more than three decades.

There were no initial signs of foul play, police said, but an investigation is underway to determine the cause of death.
