"Our little Blog Patch" from Ava Holly

My friends and readers have asked me to post this here...

Welcome to "Our little Blog Patch", my friends and readers have asked me to post this here.....

So now that the stories have been told and the news has been spread, it is my time to say thank you to all of you, especially those in the media and the "Patch" who have taken the time to say good-bye to Ocean City's official "Elvis," Ted Prior.

I know there has been much said about his passing, but he was not only a celebrity performer in his own right, but a great human being and a very good friend of mine.

I had the honor and pleasure to host his "Tribute," along with radio personality Champ Hoffman. ... and what a tribute it was.

Mark Soifer was there to give Ted several proclamations from Ocean City and declared him the "Forever"  Ocean City Elvis.

Freeholder Alisa Cooper was there to present Ted's family with a resolution of 50 years in the entertainment industry. It was an emotional moment for many in attendance.

I never got the chance to say that Senator Van Drew told me when I picked up the resolution, that most people who receive these types recognitions, receive commendations -- but Ted Prior wasn't most people and the senator told me he was receiving a state resolution, somewhat of a higher honor.

I know Ted really wanted to be at the event, but I also know that the last few weeks of his life were very hard. His condition would not have let him endure the day. I know he enjoyed it from a different place.

I have to give "hats off" to the entertainment for the day. How truly professional and enjoyable everyone was and they gave their time unconditionally to honor Ted's memory: Steve Larcombe, Patti Lattanzi, Diane Deluca and John Oelkers of "Wave," Lighthouse Band, Jim Albertson, Kenny Jeramiah, Gentleman Jim and Miss Margot's Dance Ensemble.

Gifts were given away that were graciously donated, many from Ocean City establishments.  Special thanks to Jim Crane, Pat and Barb Murphy, Neil Regina, Mark Soifer, Champ Hoffman, Peggy Reed, Jane ( what a blessing you were , Jane) Art Korth , Justin Thomson, Tyler,  and Steve Larcombe for making the day so special and running smoothly.

A great job done by the Rams Head Inn, as usual. Caitlyn-you're the best!

NBC40, The Press of Atlantic City and, of course, the "Patch. "

Carol, you were so strong and we love you ! A blessing out to the entire Prior family -- almost 20 of the family members in attendance. What a great tribute for a great man. Ted, my friend, you will be missed by many, but you will live in our hearts forever!
