So You Want To Run a 5K?
Starting next Wednesday, Tilton Fitness will offer a program to help you prepare for a 5K run.
Here’s the scenario: you’re starting to get bored with your current workout, but you have no idea what to try. You like to run, but have never done any kind of marathon or race before. You’re craving change and a new routine to follow. Sounds like a 5K is just the thing you need!
It may be easy to decide you want to sign up for a 5K, but getting started with the training isn’t always something you can do on your own. Sometimes you need someone to put you through the motions. What you need is an experienced runner, someone who has participated in multiple races and knows the ins and outs of the process. Tilton Fitness is here to help you out!
Starting next Wednesday, August 24th, Tilton Fitness of Galloway will be offering a small group training program “From Couch to 5K.” For 10 weeks, Joe Mauro, a certified personal trainer at Tilton Fitness and an avid runner, will prepare you to run a 5K race in Ocean City on October 30th. Group training will be on Wednesday nights at 6pm and Saturday mornings at 10am. On Wednesdays, you will focus on strength training and Saturdays will be a run/walk. The cost is $225 for Tilton Fitness members and $250 for non-members; this cost includes the registration fee for the race.
