Coast Guard Medevacs Man From Cruise Off South Jersey
A 70-year-old man sustained severe abdominal issues on the ship.

LITTLE EGG INLET, NJ — The Coast Guard medevacked a man Saturday night from a cruise ship 17 miles off the coast of Little Egg Inlet. A 70-year-old passenger sustained severe abdominal issues, according to officials.
A helicopter crew from Air Station Atlantic City arrived to help. The aircrew hoisted the man up and took him and and his to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center in Atlantic City.
The ship, Anthem of the Seas, is part of the Royal Caribbean International cruise line.

"We are glad that the crew contacted us as soon as they did," said David Umbereger, command duty officer at Sector Delaware Bay. "The speedy notification and precise coordination was key in getting the man the care he needed."
