Coastal Flood Advisory in Effect Monday Night

The advisory for Atlantic and Cape May counties is in effect from 7 p.m.-11 p.m.

A Coastal Flood Advisory is in effect for southern New Jersey, including Atlantic and Cape May counties, between 7 p.m. and 11 p.m., the National Weather Service announced on Monday.

Marginal minor flooding is anticipated around high tide. Wave heights on ocean waters will be 5-7 feet, and localized roadway flooding is anticipated.

Possible heavy rain could intensify tidal and poor drainage flooding.

There is also a chance of minor coastal flooding with Tuesday’s high tide.

A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that minor tidal flooding is anticipated, and road closures are possible. Usually, the most vulnerable roads will flood.

Residents are advised not to leave their vehicles in a location that is prone to tidal flooding, and to not drive through flood waters.
