Convicted Felon Admits To Dealing Drugs In Atlantic Co.: Officials

Clay Brown, 29, of Pleasantville, pleaded guilty to distributing meth and illegally possessing a gun, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.

CAMDEN, NJ — A Pleasantville man admitted his role in distributing drugs and possessing a firearm as a previously convicted felon, the U.S. Attorney's Office said.

Clay Brown, 29, pleaded guilty in Camden federal court Tuesday to an information charging him with one count of distribution of methamphetamine and one count of possession of a firearm as a previously convicted felon, U.S. Attorney Philip R. Sellinger said.

According to officials, Brown distributed methamphetamine and fentanyl multiple times to a confidential informant.

The day he was arrested, Brown had a backpack containing a firearm and controlled substances that he intended to distribute, officials said.

Brown has multiple prior felony convictions that make it unlawful for him to have a gun, officials said.

He faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison and a maximum of life in prison and a $10 million fine on the drug distribution charge, officials said.

Brown also faces a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison and $250,000 fine on the firearms charge. His sentencing is scheduled for March 21, 2023.
