Egg Harbor City Woman's Kidney Transplant Canceled
Nina Saria still needs a transplant after her operation scheduled for Tuesday was canceled.

An Egg Harbor City woman who was anticipating receiving a new kidney will have to wait because her potential donor suffers from cirrhosis of the liver, the Courier Post reports.
Nina Saria, who suffered from kidney failure last year, was to receive a new kidney during a transplant at the Hospital at the University of Pennsylvania on Tuesday morning. She was prepped for the surgery and given an antibiotic, but woke up to learn she would not be getting a new kidney, according to the report.
Saria met her potential donor when he responded to a Craigslist ad, according to the report. He admits he is a recovering alcoholic and a smoker, but it was unknown if these were contributing factors to his disease.
