EHT Man Used Cell Phone While Driving, Crashed Into Pole: Police
The man was uninjured and was issued multiple summons including using a cell phone while driving, police said.
EGG HARBOR TWP, NJ — An Egg Harbor Township man was issued multiple motor vehicle summons after crashing his car into a pole, including using a cell phone while driving, police said.
Donald Defeo, 40, from Egg Harbor Township, lost control of his 1998 Nissan Maxima on Wednesday evening, Egg Harbor Township police said. He drove off the roadway and struck a pole heading southbound on Fire Road, causing a power outage to the traffic light at Delilah Road, police said. Fire Road had to be shut down due to downed power and other utility lines, police said. Traffic was detoured in the area for over 12 hours while cleanup occurred, police said.
Police said that Defeo was uninjured.

Defeo was issued motor vehicle summons for careless driving, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane and using his cell phone while operating a motor vehicle.
