Elderly Man Seriously Injured In Absecon Hit-And-Run
Police are looking for the driver who struck the man while he was walking on the shoulder of the roadway.
ABSECON, NJ — A driver struck an elderly pedestrian and drove off early Sunday morning. Absecon police are looking for the suspect who seriously injured the 73-year-old man.
The incident took place at about 12:30 a.m. Sunday at the Delilah Road overpass (Route 646). The pedestrian was walking on the eastbound shoulder of the road when a vehicle struck him, police said.
The vehicle continued eastbound onto Absecon Boulevard (Route 30) toward Atlantic City. Traffic was restricted for about two hours for investigation.

Authorities took the victim to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center's City Division for "serious injuries," police said. Absecon police didn't publicly identify the 73-year-old Philadelphia resident.
The vehicle was described as a silver SUV — possibly a Honda Pilot.
