Galloway Man Charged With Murder in Fatal Shooting
Dennis J. Munoz allegedly shot and killed a Mays Landing man Monday night.

A Galloway man has been charged in the shooting death of a Mays Landing man, Atlantic County Prosecutor Jim McClain announced on Tuesday.
Dennis J. Munoz, 36, was charged with murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a handgun in connection with the Monday night shooting of 31-year-old Michael Black.
Hamilton Township Police, Township of Hamilton Rescue personnel, and AtlantiCare paramedics responded to a home on the 5900 block of Elmhurst Drive in Mays Landing in response to a 911 call received at 7:29 p.m. Monday night.

They found Black suffering from a gunshot wound.
Black was transported to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center City Division, where he was later declared dead.

An autopsy conducted Tuesday morning determined that the cause of death was a gunshot wound to the chest, and that the manner of death was homicide.
Munoz was arrested Tuesday morning following an investigation conducted by detectives of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Hamilton Township Police Department.
Munoz was committed to the Atlantic County Justice Facility on $1 million cash bail with no 10 percent.
