Galloway Mayor Helping Homeless Accident Victims

Don Purdy is towing the car of a couple that was involved in an accident on July 21 free of charge, according to The Press of Atlantic City.

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, NJ — Galloway Township Mayor Don Purdy is helping a homeless couple in need. Ruben Rodriguez, 29, and Paula T. Sardona, 54,were both hospitalized with serious injuries following a four-car crash on July 21. Their Chevrolet Cobalt suffered extensive damage in the accident.

They were living out of their car, The Press of Atlantic City reports. They lost all of their belongings in the crash. Purdy told the newspaper he is using his towing company to tow it out of Denny’s Auto Repair.

Most of their things were in the back, which had to be cut off, the mayor told the newspaper. Purdy Collision will tow the car free of charge, and A1 Towing will use it for scrap metal.

The car flipped over in the crash. Rodriguez had to be extricated from the vehicle by members of the Bayview Fire Department.
