High Volume Of Galloway Unlocked Vehicle Burglaries: Police
Don't forget to lock your vehicle and remove all valuables, Chief Donna Higbee said.
GALLOWAY, NJ — The Township has experienced a high volume of burglaries from unlocked vehicles recently, Galloway police announced Friday. Chief Donna Higbee told everyone to lock their vehicles and remove all valuables.
"There is no specific area and this is not an unusual crime for this time of year however this crime is the most preventable that we handle," Higbee said in a statement. "If you could just take a moment and remove your vehicle keys, purse, laptops, cell phones, cash, sunglasses, etc and secure your vehicle, this will save you a lot of trouble."
Police are stepping up patrols and enforcement, but they cannot be everywhere at all times, Higbee said. No area is immune to theft either.

If you see someone suspicious in your area, specifically after hours, call the police, Higbee said.
"You never know, you could call in someone that is in need of help," Higbee said. "We do our best to get everyone, including criminals, in touch with various social service agencies to make sure they are getting what they need so they don’t have to resort to these crimes."
