Hit-And-Run That Killed Galloway Man Draws Vehicular Homicide Charge
The prosecutor's office said that in 2020, Carmen Ruiz struck and killed Dustin Miller and did not report the crash until she got home.
GALLOWAY, NJ — Investigation into a 2020 hit-and-run that killed a Galloway man has brought vehicular homicide and leaving the scene of a fatal accident charges against the driver, the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office said.
On Sept. 25, 2020, at 4:25 a.m., Carmen Ruiz, 53, struck and killed 25-year-old Dustin Miller with her Hyundai Santa Fe on White Horse Pike in Atlantic City, officials said.
Investigation revealed that Ruiz was using "numerous medications" that caused a state of intoxication and impaired her ability to drive, the prosecutor's office said.

Ruiz also did not report the crash until she got home, officials said.
This fatal crash investigation was a cooperative effort by the Atlantic County Prosecutor's Office
Crash Investigations Unit and Atlantic City Police Department.
