The turnout was the one of the largest ever, college officials said Tuesday morning.

The net proceeds of the event benefit students.

“Our focus is on supporting Stockton students, and the Golf Classic provides an opportunity for the community to engage with us in our effort. We received an outpouring of support from our sponsors and the community, and we are truly grateful,” said Dr. Philip T. Ellmore, chief development officer and executive director of the College Foundation.

LPGA Professional Laura Diaz and her coach and father, PGA Pro Ron Philo, Sr. offered players a chance to “Beat the Pro.”

Marathon Engineering and Environmental Services was the tournament sponsor, and the title sponsor was Pennoni Associates, Inc. Other top sponsors included: IBEW Local 351 and SOSH Architects, Barrister Wealth Management, MCFA Infrastructure and Energy and Pennsylvania Trust, Carpenter’s Local 255, Eckert Seamans Cherin & Mellott, LLC, Pepsi Beverage Company and Shore Medical Center.

Barrister Wealth Management also sponsored the Million Dollar Hole-in-One Chance and a Harley hole sponsorship, which offered the chance to win a Harley Davidson motorcycle.

“Unfortunately, no golfer made the hole-in-one, but we have high hopes for next year,” Ellmore said.

Charles Weeks of Barrister Wealth Management and an assistant professor of Business Studies at Stockton, was the golf committee chair. Lisa Johnson of Lisa Johnson Communications chaired the auction and also served on the golf committee.
