A 37-year-old woman who grew up to become a biologist recently spoke about her days as a teenage victim of human sex trafficking in Atlantic City, the Burlington County Times reports.

Holly Austin Smith was 14 when she was coerced into becoming a prostitute in Atlantic City by a strange man and woman. She said she was an easy target because she was bullied and was depressed, according to the report.

She was held captive for 36 hours, sold to a john and raped before being captured by police as a prostitute and returned to her parents in Mount Holly, according to the report.
