Musical Performance to Benefit Diocese of Camden Dec. 6
Celtic Twilight Christmas benefits the South Jersey Scholarship Fund.

A “Celtic Twilight Christmas” musical program to benefit the South Jersey Scholarship Fund takes place Saturday, Dec. 6 at the TD Bank Arts Center in Sewell at 7:30 p.m.
Phil Coulter, Andy Cooney, Geraldine Brannigan and the Irish Pops Orchestra will perform.
The South Jersey Scholarship Fund raises funds for tuition assistance for students attending the 28 elementary schools and six high schools in the Diocese of Camden, which serves about 475,000 Catholics living in Atlantic, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester and Salem counties.

Coulter, from Derry, Northern Ireland, is known as “Ireland’s Musical Ambassador” and composed a string of pop hits with Bill Martin, including “Puppet on a String” and the Bay City Rollers’ “Saturday Night.”
He has composed music for Elvis Presley, among others, and was the musical mastermind and songwriter behind the Celtic Thunder act, which won acclaim for its PBS specials.

In 2012 he performed at New York’s Irish Repertory Theatre in a one-man musical show.
Cooney is part of the acclaimed New York Tenors. He has recorded 19 albums, performed in New York’s Carnegie Hall, among other places, and was described as “Irish America’s Favorite Son” by the New York Times.
Brannigan has recorded hit albums in Ireland, sang on the number one selling album in South Africa and represented Luxembourg in the Eurovision Song Contest. She has performed at The National Concert Hall in Dublin and the Cork Opera House.
